Shriya was up early that day.... She had had almost nil sleep the last night, preparing notes... And referring books.... though she had it all in her mind....

The excitement around her was too much to keep away from.... all that nervous energy in her....

Today would be the first step toward whatever her future held for her...

Nothing else bothered her right now....

Today was like no other day... She headed to the city high court....


After submitting her case, she waited with a representative of her client, a middle aged amicable man who seemed to have too much to talk about right then....

And she won it.....


She headed back home, saturated with praises from her peers and a personal gratitude call from the client himself.....

Her firm was proud of her... They offered a celebration dinner that night, but Shriya gently refused and asked for the next day off instead....

She had already called up her parents, who were more than happy and she could almost sense their tears..... She wanted to be with them right then.... and then Shradha, who had squealed with delight.....

And now.... there was no one else to share the joy with....

For now... it was a lonely night, a lonely bed and a lonely sense of happiness.....
